According to the Sunday Times Good University Guide in 2022, and The Complete University Guide in 2023, City’s Department of Journalism ranks first in the United Kingdom for communication and media studies, and for graduate prospects in the same areas. It also ranks number one in overall satisfaction for journalism students in London by the National Student Survey (2022).
City is a preferred academic destination for undergraduates and for early to mid-career professionals who want to pursue journalism Master’s degrees in Broadcast, Podcasting, Data, Interactive, International, Investigative, Global Finance, Magazine, Television, Newspaper, and Journalism, Media and Globalization (Erasmus Mundus). All this at much lower tuition costs than at leading U.S. universities. For 2023/24 the fee for international students studying a journalism MA is £22,733 (approx. $28,000).
City’s Department of Journalism recently launched the U.K.’s first Master’s degree dedicated exclusively to podcasting, aiming to satisfy a growing demand in the industry.
With state-of-the-art facilities for online, television, radio, and podcasting in the heart of London, City’s Department of Journalism offers two Bachelor’s degrees, 11 Master’s programs and one doctoral program in journalism.
On 8 March a panel of City academics, current students and American journalism alumni will offer details on the Department of Journalism courses, facilities, faculty, job prospects for U.S. students upon graduation, alumni network, and the overall thrill of studying and living in London.
City staffers will also provide practical information for U.S. students on the application process, student life at City, visas, housing, and scholarships and financial aid. There will be a Q&A session with the panel of City experts.
